CRUISER RIDES:  Nite Cruisers™

A “cruiser ride” is a kick back to the days of the one-speed bicycle with chrome fenders, wide handlebars, and the coaster brake. Such an event is not about competition, riding ability, the brand or quality of bicycle being ridden. From a more nostalgic perspective, this ride is more about having a kid-like experience of riding a bicycle around town at night without worrying anything about driving or parking. The collective group of bicycle riders has fun by traveling slow, waving to everyone they see, ringing the silly bell on the handle bars, hooting and hollering in a welcoming way, and showing off an old classic or a rather strange two-wheeled contraption.

The final wave of riders will be departing the last scheduled stop in town between 10:00 and 10:30 PM and will return to Founder's Square at Aspen Highlands by 11:00 PM. All riders will be reminded that the start of the 100-mile century ride (Centaspin™) begins bright and early the very next morning.

Safety Rules & Security Details

• A maximum of 175 riders can participate in a total of 3 waves from Aspen Highlands
• Each rider must be registered, wear a helmet, and have bicycle light or headlamp
• Bring your own lock. Bicycles will only be watched during initial wave staging

• Several break spots at downtown Aspen esablishments will be arranged in advance
• Our staff and a security team will lead each wave and ride along to ensure safe travel
• No travel is allow on E. Durant Avenue or E. Main Street.
• All rules of the road strickly apply and crosswalks must be used at busy intersections.
