Snowmass Mountain (Multiple Trails)
Snowmass has an absolute abundance of mountain biking trails for your riding pleasure. A top trail team keeps the rides on the ski slopes in outstanding shape from Spring until late Fall. In fact, this location serves as one of the premier locations for the National Off-Road Biking Association (NORBA) racing events including Snowmass Nationals and Blast the Mass.
All biking trails are well-marked and categorized on a printed map that is readily available for free. This provides riders with one or multiple options that can be linked together into a series of loops serving several purposes: 1) Additional time-on-trail can be easily added if a rider feels particularly strong and energized on a given day; 2) If temporary health issues such as headaches, colds, breathing difficulties, diet, conditioning, altitude sickness come on suddenly, the rider can get back to the start more easily with cutting short the enjoyment of fellow riders; and 3) Should a mechanical breakdown occur, the “bail out” doesn't force the rider to hike the bike as far should attempts fail to fix the problem. Also, the looping of rides minimize unwanted disruptions because the biker does not have to worry about slowing or stopping for oncoming traffic as found on those “out-and-back” type rides.
